Overview

Honda’s all-conquering CRF450R has become the overwhelming first choice of motocross, flattrack and Supermoto riders around the world who’ll settle for nothing less than the best of the breed to carry them to victory. Powered by a remarkable Unicam 4-stroke engine that pumps out roost-raising leaps of performance at the twist of its throttle, the CRF450R’s light and rigid aluminium frame and responsive Works racer suspension systems are now complemented by a revolutionary new Honda Progressive Steering Damper.

Fuel Injection:
The new lightweight, battery-less fuel injection/ignition system delivers enhanced performance, a wider, higher power range and improved power delivery, as well as kick-start capability. It also has an indicator integrated with the engine stop switch which displays pre-race conditions of the fuel injection system for Motocross racers.

Honda Progressive Steering Damper:
The lightweight and compact Honda Progressive Steering Damper (HPSD) was developed by Team Honda for improved cornering ability and reduced rider fatigue. HPSD features a compact and rugged hydraulic damper attached between the steering head and the lower triple-clamp to augment more aggressive steering characteristics and assist straight-line handling. The steering damper is re-valved for more linear damping, whilst its progressive damping action smoothly increases with handlebar deflection. This produces very natural steering characteristics and feel.

Insane Power Delivery:
The powerful 4-stroke 4-valve Unicam engine churns out 41.5kW of power at 8500rpm and 50.3Nm of torque at 7000prm. Power is produced across a broader rpm-band for smoother, easier operation. An improved clutch action gives smoother up and down shifting which decreases rider fatigue and increases control.

New Suspension Setup:
New, KYB (Kayaba) rear damper and bigger (48mm) KYB front fork give a better stroke feel, action and control for a plush overall feel and improved bump impact.
